O’Fallon Fire Protection District, the first fire district/department in Missouri to become accredited, produces a pre-election tax-funded informational DVD

Later this month, O’Fallon Fire Protection District will begin distributing 10,000 copies of a DVD, now in production, that will explain the district’s financial needs. Residents of the district will vote on a bond issue in April that will include adding resources to the District.

 

Spokane Valley, WA Quarterly Report Addressed Seeking Accredited Agency Status

The Spokane Valley, WA Fire Department produced a fourth quarter 2009 report that includes rational for pursuing accredited agency status and a progress report and process plan. The Spokane Valley Quarterly Report is a good example of communicating with the governing body and the community. Chief Mike Thompson is no stranger to the accreditation process. Chief Thompson was involved in the development of the accreditation model, served as an accreditation peer assessor, and led a previous department to become accredited during the first year of the Commission being established.

 

Fire department shift reduction on hold...for now

As in many communities nationwide, the debate over staffing levels continues in Bloomfield. The township council delayed action and continued discussions to a later meeting.

 

Fire and Emergency Services Accreditation Specialist Job Announcement

Booz Allen Hamilton, a very large strategy and technology consulting firm, is advertising for a Fire and Emergency Services Accreditation Specialist to assist Department of Defense fire protection facilities achieve accredited agency status. Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Booz Allen has 20,000 employees and generates annual revenue of approximately $4 billion.
