Fire Emergency Services Flight Receives International Accreditation

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, SC -- Months of tedious preparation recently paid off for the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Emergency Services Flight upon earning its accreditation with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

CPSE Board Member Max Baker has continued his efforts in contributing to the community since retiring as administrator of Los Alamos County in December. Max made a lasting impression on his community and is now focused on his contributions to CPSE.

Rocky Mount (NC) Fire Department, an accredited agency since August of 2003, will soon have a new Fire Chief following the retirement of Chief Harris, highly respected in the community for his leadership in the department and his performance during Hurricane Floyd. Rocky Mount is also getting lot of exposure for a new fire truck. The engine, with their Accredited Agency Decal prominently displayed, is features on the manufacturer’s web page, apparatus calendar, and even as the focal photograph in the factory lobby!

Montgomery County Maryland Keeping the Fleet on the Street!

County Executive Ike Leggett, Public Safety Council Chair Phil Andrews, members of the County Council, Fire Chief Richard Bowers and other elected officials and distinguished guests will be on hand for the grand opening celebration of Montgomery County Fire and Rescues' new Central Maintenance Facility. Montgomery County's training facility was the host site for the field experiments conducted in February of 2009 as part of the DHS Grant awarded to CPSE for Firefighter Safety and Deployment. Partnering organizations included the IAFC, IAFF, NIST, and WPI with Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell of IAFF leading the team of researchers that include Dr. Jason Averill of NIST and Dr. Kathy Notarianni of WPI.
